Have a great summer!

Dear Friends,

Thank you for such a wonderful year. It was wonderful to welcome so many new Friends to Indiana. I love getting together with everyone after our breaks.  This year flew by! I am always so sorry for the year to end. Please be sure to watch for meet ups this summer! We can touch base, practice English and share our stories.

For all of our Friends who are moving on this year: Please keep in touch. I love to hear your news. You can connect with me on Facebook (I am the Carolyn Willard with the artsy red profile picture).

For everyone: you can keep up with your English practice and build your vocabulary using Memrise and/or Duolingo. You can load these as an app for your summer on the go fun. These really are fun to do and the challenge keeps you going for more.

A huge thank you to CLC for providing us with space and childcare. We have always been welcome to use the facilities for all of our meetings.

Thank you to all of our staff. Our staff are volunteers. I am always amazed at the wonderful staff that we have. The time and compassion they bring to our program is

International Bible Study
We met for our final Bible Study session and discussed what we have learned this year from our study of the book of Acts. It has been such an amazing adventure to follow the growth of the early Christian Church with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Again and again we see Peter and Paul, as well as many other apostles and disciples, declaring the love of God to the world in the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Even when those first believers were faced with opposition, imprisonment, and persecution, they persisted in their enthusiastic sharing of the Gospel. Their courage in the face of hardships inspired us. When we are faced with circumstances that bring anxiety and rob us of our peace, we return to the Gospel message that God loves us so much that He sent His Son to rescue us from our sinful state. Jesus died to pay the price for our sins, and He rose on the third day, defeating the devil and death. We have nothing to worry about, since He has won eternal life for us. We have peace and joy always, even when things in this world don't go the way we would like them to. Our study of Acts showed us how important it is to share the Good News of God's love with those around us. May God use our study of Acts to renew our hearts and inspire us with a message that spread to all the corners of the world.

We look forward to a new Bible Study season next fall! - Jan Heiman

International Friends
We enjoyed a pot luck/pitch in. How nice to share some new recipes and stories.

We have already started planning for next year! Mehrin will teach us to make a beautiful pop-up card. Jacqui will teach us how to make more tiny food. Of course we will celebrate Thanksgiving and have a holiday party. Maybe we should kick off the year with an ice cream social?
