Have a great spring break!

Dear Friends,

It looks like April is living up to its reputation: April showers bring May flowers. We saw our first thunderstorms of spring today. This was a very nice break from the snow.

Final Four is in full swing this weekend. Yes, there will be great games of basketball played, but there will also be free concerts and fun activities. Don't miss it! Check out the schedule.

Tomorrow is Good Friday (the day that Jesus was put to death). Most Christian churches will have services to remember this day. Please feel free to attend a service. Carmel Lutheran has services at 12:00, 6:45 (contemporary), and 7:00 (tenebrae). Easter Sunday celebrates Jesus raising from the dead. Easter and Christmas are the most highly attended Christian church celebrations. Carmel Lutheran has services Saturday and Sunday. Please check the schedule. There is also a pancake breakfast from 7-11:00 in the gym.

Tuesday at International Bible study we read the story of the last supper Jesus had with His disciples. This is significant because He replaces the old practices with a new practice. Jesus is arrested. His message is a message of love and care for people throughout. Read and listen to His words and lessons surrounding the story in John 13-19.

At International Friends we dyed Easter Eggs and talked about Easter traditions. Thank you Kathy for telling us about the Easter Lily. Congratulations Mayumi for winning the lily in the drawing

At Wednesday conversation we finished (or almost finished) panorama sugar eggs. It was fun to see the creative work of everyone.

It was great to see so many people in English classes on Thursday. I had a great time hearing your stories and catching up with everyone.

I hope that everyone has a great Spring break this next week and I am looking forward to seeing everyone April 14, 15 and 16.

Be safe and have a Happy Easter.
Carolyn
