September 8, 2015:Let's go to Conner Prairie!
Join us at Conner Prairie to see what life was like in Indiana in the 1800s.
See what farm and town life was like. Ride the balloon and get a birds-eye view of the greater Indianapolis area. AND the Apple Store is open! Taste delicious cider and the best apple fritters on earth! This is a great field trip for parents and children!

Meet at church to carpool and caravan to depart at 10:30.

September 15: Let's have a baby shower!
Have you ever been invited to a baby shower? This is a traditional practice in the United States that to celebrate the up-coming birth of a baby. We are lucky to have three friends due before 2016! They will be our shower "lucky victims" as we join together to learn about baby shower customs, gifts and games. Learn to make a "diaper cake" that can be a gift or a centerpiece.

September 22, 2015: Let's talk about football and tailgate.
Join us in the CLC parking lot as we try tailgating and learn about football. Bring your lawn chairs and a snack to share.

October 6, 2015: Let's talk about having babies!
Join us as we talk about having babies in the United States. What are the medical practices? What can you expect at the hospitals? What are the options? Adina Nelson (a duela) and Joette Morris (an OB/GYN neonatal nurse) will help us understand more about having babies in our hospitals.

October 13, 2015: Let's talk about swearing in English.
Join us as we talk about bad language. What are swear words and gestures? What is rude and bad language? What words in your home language can be confused for swear words?

October 20, 2015: Let's talk about raising our kids in a new country with new customs.
How do you keep your traditions? How do you add new traditions?

October 27, 2015: Let's carve pumpkins into Jack o' Lanterns
Bring a serrated knife and a pumpkin to carve into a Jack o' Lantern for your front porch. We will roast pumpkin seeds and a pumpkin. Come ready to try some fun, traditional games. Wear your costume if you dare!

November 3, 2015: Let's make pumpkin bread.
Yaying will teach us to make beautiful and delicious pumpkin "roses".

Come and learn how to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving turkey with the fixings. Bring your favorite feasting dish to share.

Join us as we make mochi and celebrate the new year Japanese-style.

January 19, 2016: Let's make bangle bracelets.
Bring empty water bottles, old nail polish and a pair of scissors and we will make stylish bangle bracelets to match any outfit (or your nails!)

January 26, 2016: Let's make hot pot, nabe, and your national "cook at the table" dish.

February 2, 2016: Groundhog Day. Let's make a traditional Taiwanese Chinese New Year dish.

February 9, 2016:  Let's make sweets for our sweeties!
Bring card making supplies and we will make Valentines while we wait. If you have time, we can head down for Cajun at Mudbugs to celebrate Fat Tuesday.

Join us for a field trip to the Cool Creek Nature Center. This little nature center is a great getaway. If the weather is very fine, we will take a hike and enjoy the playground. Meet at the church to carpool/caravan or join us there! 2000 E 151st Street, Carmel.

March 1, 2016: Let's Color!
We will relax with Adult Coloring pages. Have you tried this new craze? Bring your work. Bring your colored pencils, crayons, markers... Join us for lunch as we try out Koto, the new Japanese steakhouse by 14490 Lowes Way.

Easter is March 27. Come and talk about Easter customs in the United States and die beautiful Easter eggs. Bring your own hard boiled eggs.

April 12, 2016: Let's talk about spring gardening and take a trip to Salisbury Brothers Gardens at 4317 156th Street in Carmel.

April 26, 2016: Let's make Mother's Day Cards
Join us as Maaki hosts Mother's Day Card Making. Bring scissors and double sided tape or glue tape.

May 3, 2016: Election Day! I am working the polls all day. Do you want to see what an American polling place looks like from the inside? Stop by and tell me hello.

May 10, 2016: Our Last Meeting of the Year. Let's Party!
